KOTM Monday-June 26, 2017

Good morning everyone!  It's Kris here today with a super-simple KOTM post for you.
Every time I see a new KOTM, I stop to think about what I can use for a birthday card.  I guess that's because I make a lot of birthday cards!  This month's kit was no exception.
I chose to use only one of the ice cream images and find it's just perfect for summer birthdays.  I die cut the 2-part frame (MFT die) and layered it on top of some watercolor paper.  I cut a strip with the sentiment and adhered it to the middle.  The ice cream cone is colored very simply with some Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut, and popped on the card front.  I added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops (because I just got them and was dying to use them-LOL).  Here's my card.

And here is the full kit...Time to Enjoy Life.

It's so easy to sign up and start your subscription with this adorable full (8 1/2" x 11") sheet of rubber.
Just click on any of the bold links in this post and learn all about it.
I hope everyone has a beautiful week.

Uniquely Unity Collection- A Daisy & A Lady

Happy Sunday Unity lovers!

Echo here with you today with a card I made with this fabulous new membership. This is the very first month for this awesome membership! Sign up today and you can say "I have been getting Uniquely Unity from the beginning."  How awesome is that? I have been having so much fun with this kit.
It's called A Daisy & A Lady.

I made this card as a trifold card. I used some patterned paper as a band to hold it together. I adhered the daisy to the center of the band. It just slips right over the card! I was having fun with this patterned paper so I paper pieced the daisy and ladybug!

Here it is opened. I left it blank inside.
I have big handwriting.
So, it's nice to have some room to write a message!

To get this trifold card. I took a full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 kraft card stock. I cut it at 5 1/2" width. So basically you cut 3" off of the 8 1/2" side. Leaving the whole 11" length for the trifold. Make first score line at 2 1/2". This will be the small flap and make the second score line at 6 3/4". Perfect. Now we have our 2 flaps. I took a ruler and at 4". I lined up the smaller flap a drew a line with pencil from the corner down 4" to get my angle cut. I used a die to cut the inside white panel. I used the same die for the outside panel but, I used patterned paper. For the band I cut a strip of patterned paper at 3/4" x 9". Wrapped it around the card so I could glue it to make a band. I just wanted to make sue I didn't make it to tight to fit around the card. I placed the daisy over the seem of the band!

Here is the full kit! It is a great value at $14.99 a month delivered automatically to your door each month! Definitely my new favorite membership! If you want to learn more. Click here for all the deets!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Uniquely Unity Reminder ~ A Daisy & A Lady

Hi, it's Gaylynn here with the Uniquely Unity reminder.

Sentiment:  Do all things in kindness.

This adorable kit is called A Daisy & A Lady.
It is the very first Uniquely Unity monthly membership kit, released June 2017.
For this card, I repeated the daisies in a way where only one ladybug shows.  I used watercolor for the centers and Copic markers for the daisies.  You can get a similar cluster look by masking the areas you don't want stamped.  The possibilities are endless.

I made a quick tip video for this daisy and ladybug card.
I focused on how to give a white daisy flower depth with highlights.

And here it is a little closer:

Have a lovely weekend.

Inspiration Wednesday

Hello there Unity friends. Shemaine here bringing you this week's Inspiration Wednesday post. I love being assigned this post because I take the opportunity to use some of my older Unity stamps. Today I am creating with an image from the Dec/2014 SMAK kit : Moments Like These

So I was surfing Pinterest and came across this card. It caught my eye because I love butterflies.

I loved how the card designer cut along the stamped image and layered it over the card base. I used this design as my inspiration for today's card.

I stamped my image on watercolor cardstock and embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then I added some distress inks and cut around the stamped image. I finished with a simple sentiment.

Where do you find inspiration? I'd love to hear your ideas. Leave us a comment below.

Have a great day!

DT Tuesday

Hello, it's Kary here for DT Tuesday.
I love mermaids and all sea creatures - I guess there's a kid in me somewhere - lol!  Unity has many awesome kits and my absolute favorite is this kit by Susan K Weckesser, Spirit of a Mermaid.
Here is my card.  Lately, I have an obsession with stencils and watercolor backgrounds. On this card, I have incorporated every coloring medium I love.  I colored the mermaid with Copic markers, the sea with watercolors and the sky and sun with Distress Oxide inks.

I used several different stitched waves dies for the card.  I also cut off the mermaid's tail and attached it underneath the waves.  To finish off the card, I added some shimmer to the mermaid's body and tail.
I hope you like the card.
Here's the pick of the week - I LOVE to see what you are making every week.  So very hard to just pick a few...

Happy Uniquely Unity Friday!

Hello and happy Friday!

Echo here with you today sharing a card I made with Unity's newest membership kit Uniquely Unity Collection!

For this card I thought it would be fun to do some stamping in colored ink. I stamped out the daisy in yellow on the sides and stamped in black on the center flower. Then stamped again on a scrap piece of card stock. I colored with my copic markers and fussy cut daisy. Popped up daisy with foam tape. When I placed the flower I turned it a bit so it did not match up exactly. I like seeing the stamped image behind. It adds another visual layer.

Oopsy...daisy we are already halfway through June! How did this happen? So here's the deal there is only 2 weeks left to sign up for this amazing new membership to get this beautiful kit. What could be better then having stamps appear at your doorstep every month? To learn more about this membership click here to get all the deets!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Welcome to Inspiration Wednesday!

What inspires you to stamp?
This is my sister, Carla!  She inspires me!   She started me stamping about 19 years ago.  She also called me one day and said "You are not gong to believe this new stamp company called Unity, it's like they make the stamps thinking about you.  You will LOVE them!"  It then took me about 10 seconds to follow her advice and fall in love with Unity!
I think if you do what you LOVE with the Peeps you LOVE it is a winning combo every single time!!
[I found this on Pinterest.
It is in another language, please let it be appropriate LOL]
Carla lives about 2 hours from me so I always spend a couple of nights with her.  I was about to jump in the shower to leave and she said Let's stamp.  OK and I plopped right down and here is what we made!
This one Carla made with PMS Peggy.  The flower and ribbon are from her stash.  The ink is Gina K Ocean Mist.  The paper is SU and K & Co.
Carla also made this one using Paris Newsprint on the butterfly and the sentiment is from a Goodie Bag she had so I am not sure what set it belongs to.  If you must have it let me know and I will track it down! The ink is Gina K Autumn Landscape and Kraft.  The paper is SU and K & Co.  The Eiffel Tower is from a Summer in Paris Cricut cartridge.  That thread is from two vintage spools from the thrift store and I LOVE it!  You will be seeing a ball of thread on all my cards now probably LOL  The pearls are from Recollections.
These cards we used Beary Best Dad.  I made the top one, Carla made the bottom one.  We used SU cardstock on the card base and K&Co is all of the printed paper.
We colored with Tim Holtz distress markers, as you can see I color just like a 3 year old *GASP*  LOL  So I paper pieced to try to make up for it LOLOLOLOLOLOL  The screw brads came from her stash.  I think Making Memories made them years ago or maybe Die Cuts with a View.
I made this one and I used Brave Girl Teepee.  I used SU cardstock on the card base and K&Co is all of the printed paper.  The pearls are from Recollections.  I also used vintage thread.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope we inspired you and I hope you grab whoever inspires you and sit down and stamp with them!

DT Tuesday with Karen

Hello & Happy Tuesday Unity friends!
Today, I am sharing a shabby mixed media card with you today!

The two layered background was covered by blending various
Distress Inks onto some watercolor paper, until I achieved this muted look.
Hint: adding a spritz of water to the inks and then blotting them with a paper towel will
lift some of the color and give you more of a muted tone, which helped the shabby look.
Then, using a stencil on top of those base card layers, I blotted some
Picket Fence Distress Paint to the distress inked layers.
I love the texture it creates on top of the watercolor paper.

I used the same method for the diecut itself, except I didn't use a stencil there!
I just blotted the paint onto it, to give yet another different texture to the card.

The middle of the die cut (and the sentiment banner) were both stenciled in
with Distress ink.  Lastly, I stamped the beautiful flower and heat embossed it in white.
It was colored in with Distress Inks matching the base of the card!  So, there it is!
No designer paper used except my very own made created by using different mixed media products!

How about that sweet sentiment?
I figured it would be perfect for sending to someone special
who would like some extra special encouragement!

Now, I'd love to share a few Unity Picks for this week!
This first card was created by Bella Smith!
I love the texture, sweet embellishments and fabulous coloring
which makes for one stunning card!!

Then, my next pick is from Shannon Pavlovic Edwards!
This background is amazing..not to mention the coloring and her sweater...gorgeous!
I love the addition of the hearts going across the card too!

Until the next time, I will leave you with this inspirational thought...

Have a wonderful & creative day!
