Inspiration Wednesday

Hello Unity friends! Shemaine here with this week's Inspiration Wednesday post. Today I want to inspire you to create with kraft paper, Distress inks and embossing folders. I love the mini blending inks from Ranger. The colors are amazing and fun to create with. They also blend nicely on kraft paper.

I was inspired by this color palette via Pinterest and I knew exactly how I wanted to use them to create today's project.

For this project, I chose to create with Peacock feathers, Spiced marmalade, and Twisted citron. Blend each color on your card base that's cut at 4 X 5 1/3.

One I have applied all the colors, I like to go back in and blend them again to make the color richer.

Now I am ready to emboss the inked paper with my favorite embossing folder from Anna Griffin. It's called Poppy.

Place the cardstock inside the embossing folder and run it thru your embossing machine. The result is stunning! Kinda looks like embossed leather right?

Now to add some dimension I add some white ink to one of the images from the February KOTM.

Stamp the image randomly on the embossed design and sprinkle with clear embossing powder. Then using your heat tool, emboss the design.

Next I used Versamark to stamp this image on the same kraft cardstock and emboss with gold embossing powder and cut the image out. I repeated the same process but cut out the butterfly to layer over the top of the first one.

Now you are ready to assemble the card. I used twine (found in the $1 bin at Target) to tie a bow and Therm-O-Web 3D foam squares to attach the butterfly to the card base. I stamped my sentiment inside the card since the front looked great just the way it is.

Now before I go, I want to inspire you with a quote I found that spoke to me!

I'm so glad you're part of Unity's community!  Keep crafting and have a creative day!
