Inspiration Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone.  Kris here to share some inspiration today.

I think as card-makers, scrapbookers, and mixed media artists we all find inspiration in so many things.
Today, I want to challenge you to look at some on your older stamps in different ways.  I think we all have a tendency to put our older images/sentiments in the back of the bin because there are always new, trendy, exciting ones available.
This kit that I’m using today was released about a year ago, but the images came from a KOTM released in July of 2009 called a Pocket full of… and when it was released, it had a different sentiment.
Here are the original kit (still available) and the newer release.  From time to time Unity will release some images from older subscriptions as itty bittys or smaller kits.

I don't have the 2009 KOTM but I do have the newer release.  I think I made one or two cards with it after I purchased it and it's been neglected ever since.
My first card stays pretty true to the kit using the images and the sentiment.  I chose to draw in the stitch marks on the patches but you could actually sew them on.

The next card uses an idea I saw several times on Pinterest and a sentiment from Lisa Arana’s Feel Better Soon sentiment kit (see that little tissue stuffed in the pocket?).
Last I have an all-occasion card and for this one I stamped and colored the pocket image on canvas (fun and different) and used a sentiment from the Bunches of {love}sentiment kit.

To recap...take the time to re-visit your older stamp sets.  It's so much fun to have the newest/trendiest images and sentiments but you can make what's old new again.  Remember that there is a sale at Unity that starts every Thursday.  There may or may not be new releases but there are always tons of great oldies to be had at great prices.  It's time to stretch that imagination and those dollars.
