havin' me some SOUP for lunch!

wut up, unity fans?!! i feel compelled to share with you my 3 favorite soups (in no particular order).

1.  the soup on E.  it cracks me up every time i watch it and it has a permanent spot on my DVR.  it is laugh-out-loud-funny.  if you don't watch it, you should. right now. go.

2.  chicken tortilla soup from the wal-mart.  omg.  yummy!  it is on the outside part of the store by the dips, deli, and fresh stuff.  next to the produce.  i throw some jalepenos in there and it's good to go.

3. jillibean soup stamps.  they are so flippin' cute...and versatile.  my new favorite set is:

                              my layout:

(scanner issues, sorry for the pic)
i actually got this set specifically for sports layouts.  i liked the stars, numbers, circles, and tickets.  i have one in the works RIGHT now on my scrap table.  stay tuned.

if you don't have this set....GO GET IT!!

and because you really can't get enough jillibean...

in true angela fashion, i will leave you with quotes:

"reese will not stop loving me.  i don't know what it is, but he JUST CAN'T get over me.  he's been chasing me at recess since kindergarten and NOW he's making me pictures.  i don't know what it is with me."
-abby erickson, grade one

"hey, mom.  i got a birthday paycheck today."
-ryan erickson, grade four (after getting a card in the mail from his grandparets)

"whatever."
-megan erickson, grade seven

have a SUPER friday! :) jen erickson

Ippity Review

Hello again.. Angie here with another Ippity Review

It is time to go to your local Home Depot or your local paint store.
Now go to the paint chip section.. and grab some of those wonderful colours.

I love the look of paint on cards and layouts.. but I don't always have the colour I want ..so for an easy way to ink up some of your images.. is to use paint chips.. oh and you can do so much more with them as well.

Here is a card I did just inking up the images and using the paint chip as my coloured cardstock.. It has a glossy look to the paper.. so when you ink it up it looks really cool.

You can get such a large range of any colour.. and talk about free.. because paint chips are all FREE.. well, until the paint company sees what we can make with them..hehe

I did the stars and the red in the car body using paint chips, paper piecing them. I love it.. and the colours are so bright and solid.

{Using the Authentic Man set from the Summer 2010 Release}

I hope it is something that you would give a try.. I have also used these paint chips to punch shapes and diecuts too.. have fun with it!!

have a great day. Home Depot here we come!

Growing In Unity Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! Has spring sprung yet by you? Yesterday we had beautiful weather upper 70s. At first it was a little too warm for me then we went and hung out by the beach and it was wonderful. It's Maria Levine here with your Growing in Unity gal for this week, Becky Gromala

Here is a little something about Becky:

"My name is Becky and I am a very happy go lucky person, I believe there is nothing in the world that can't be accomplished with a little kindness! I recently became a stay at home Mom to two handsome little men ages 3 and 11 months and I'm loving every minute of it! I started paper crafting in 1997 and I've been addicted ever since. My passion began with scrapbooking and expanded to stamping in 2009. Aside from my passion for paper crafting I love antique shopping and camping during the summer months. I am lucky to have a very supportive husband of 5 years who fully supports my crafting addiction. I hope you all enjoy my creations for my Growing in Unity week!"

Check out this beauty from Becky:

Be sure to swing on by Becky's blog each day this week and leave her some love. At the end of the week Becky will randomly pick one person to win a Unity Kit!

That's it for this week!

Ippity Review!!!

Happy Tuesday Afternoon!!!

It's Stephanie here I am so happy to be here and share one of my favorite Ippity projects.

One of my favorite things to do when I do have the extra time is to make altered projects!!!

When I did this project I had gift giving in mind for a special friend who had been going through a rough time. This quote from the kit Quotes A la Happy was going to be perfect for what I wanted to do. I bought a frame for no more then a couple of dollars at Walmart and because I knew I wanted to add some fun big embellishments I just removed the glass from the frame. Then just as I would decorate a card I went to town on adding layers , some stitching and stamping my sentiment and last but not least adding all of my embellishments.

It really was a quick project and made a great gift!!!

Have a fabulous day!!!!

DT Tuesday

Hey...Maria here today!
and...that's me...taking a photo of myself in my bathroom :)
Yep...my walls are bright green...not that bright...I messed with the photo setting but still pretty bright.
I have an obsession with things that are white and distressed and bright colors.
I'm sure none of you have noticed my online absence lately but boy have I.
My hubby and I have been redoing our kitchen for the last TWO MONTHS.
ALL BY OURSELVES!!!
Here is a sorta of before...kind of mid progress shot.
And here is the AFTER pictures....SO HAPPY TO HAVE THIS DONE!!
My Mom and I tiled the backsplash...neither one of use had done it before but after a ten minute you tube video I was sure I could handle the project.  Turns out I was right...it was really easy :)
...and I LOVE that faucet!!
I had planned on leaving the walls yellow but they did nothing for the cabinets...so I went with a BOLD blue...loving this too!!
The guy at the hardware store was entering the paint color into their system for future reference and he asked me where I would be using this color...when I told him the kitchen he said,
"to each his own"...hehe.
This color was welcomed with open arms by my hubby and kids but I did get a few strange looks over Easter.  Not everyone was digging the color but I get an instant smile when I walk in so it's all good :)
The floor was laid by my husband without my help.  My back completely gave out the day we were going to start this...guess I needed a break.
As FUN as it was to design the kitchen and then watch it transform I've never been happier to have a project done.  I've missed my craft room and browsing through blogs...my google reader is over 1000 right now.
In all the chaos I did have a few chances to sneak away and create but only
clean and simple designs.
I made this cute little graduation card using the Unity KOTM
Please tell me you get it...my husband didn't get it!!
Here I thought I was being all cute and clever...and he didn't get it!
I know when I graduated high school DONE was the best word ever.
Are you a FAN of Unity on Facebook??
You should be...I'll be posting a FUN...RANDOM question on the Unity page today...join in the fun and you could win your choice of an {Itty Bitty} stamp!!!!
Before I go...my Dad shared this quote with me this weekend.  He thought it would be great for a card...love that he was thinking of me.
If God brings you to it...
He'll bring you through it!
