Mixed Media....burlap, butterflies and Smiles!

I've been so excited to share my mixed media post with you all.
It is one of those projects that makes me happy!
It's earthy, full of texture, and has a great message.
"Smiles are proof of everyday miracles"
Love that!
It's included in the stamp set,
Insightful Meadows by Donna Downey
There is so much going on here
with my card.

I love it so much, I'm thinking I need to put it in a frame.
I've got burlap, Grunge Paper, corrugated cardboard, designer paper, regular kraft cardstock!
I used white acrylic paint, glimmer mist, and distress ink!
If that's not mixed media, then I don't know what is?
LOL!

Here's a few detailed shots....up close pictures.
I used some scallop die-namics for the burlap, and polka dotted paper.
then I cut the grunge paper (it's this awesome, plyable chipboard by Tim Holtz)
bracket tab die-namic and spritz it with some Tiger Lily glimmer mist.
It's all tied up with some seam binding ribbon and black twine.

Then there's the giant butterflies!

I used my bigz die, Beautiful Butterflies to cut up an old Nike shoe box.
I used more of the white acylic paint and brushed around the edges
added some orange tinting with the glimmer mist
and then stacked up the butterflies with a dimensional.
More black twine prettied it up!
You can also see what I did in the background a little better, with this photo.
I white-washed the craft cardstock
and then stamped some of the pretty flowers from the
Insightful Meadows set.
Perfect!
Let me know what you think!
Hope you are inspired to pull out some other supplies from your
stash to create your own mixed media project.
It's fun to get messy with more than just ink and paper!
Hugs,
Lisa H.
