My Song Today.

...when you only got 100 years to live.
Have you actually listened to the words of this song?
Often times a song becomes so familiar that we don't actually 'listen' to the message.
If you would like to read the words CLICK HERE.
It seemed significant as I thought about a conversation that took place yesterday....
James was playing with his little cousin, Jackson who is 2.
James was asked by his Aunt Stacey if he would teach his little cousin how to hunt when the time came.
Glad to do so - James did the math.... exclaiming
"Hey! When Jackson is ready to hunt, I will be 24"
--------------------------
What?!
--------------------------
My dad, who is a WHIZ at math had to re figure that a few times before he believed it.
Then HE stated -
"I'll be pushing Daisies!"
- NO YOU WILL NOT, Dad! :)
--------------------------------
Time.
It eludes us.
---------------------
Yesterday James was 2 sitting in my large mixing bowl looking up at me with his 4 toothed grin.
Today he is standing at shoulder height just waiting for the growth spurt that his brother experienced.
Tomorrow he will be 24.
{and I hope he still has his sweet patch of freckles}
How often do we say, tommorow - next week, next month?
Today is THAT day!
--------------------------
How often are we surrounded by small children day in and day out and wonder if life will ever be in our control again?
I remember those days - take it from me, it happens....FAST.
----------------------------
All we really have is today - you have heard it said!
Make IT a good one!
Hug the little ones...take a look around...deep breath...enjoy your "TIME".
---------------------------
You must have been warned against letting the golden hours slip by; but some of them are golden only because we let them slip by.

Beautiful card!

It is so true all we have is today. And really all we have is THIS moment right NOW. An hour from now doesn't even exist yet. How powerful a statement to ENJOY EVERY MOMENT.

Ohh, I love Kimber's card.

And I really really don't want to think of my 2 year old becoming 24. :( How sad!

What a lovely and fun card from Kimber today!

Ah, time... kids growing up... me getting older... topics a bit "fresh" for me after a "mid-milestone" birthday last week and a realization at the DMV. Renewed my driver's license; it expires in 2017... also the year my son will graduate from high school! Yikes! Thanks for a thoughtful post and perfect song today! Sniff... off to hug the kiddos.
